Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much
Helen Keller
Beachwood Early Learning and Kindergarten was founded by Bronwyn Tueno and Michelle Jones.
Together, Bronwyn and Michelle share a vision of a centre that truly feels an extension to the family and that will exceed each family’s highest expectations.
Being privately owned and operated allows us to offer a unique service that aligns with this vision and the values we have gained with over 20 years of shared management experience in the early childhood sector. Most importantly however, as working mothers we understand the needs and hopes of families having had our own experience with various early learning services for the care of our own children.
When enrolling your child we use age as a guide only.
Upon discussion with each family, children will be enrolled into the room that best suits their needs, routine and stage of development.
Our nursery environments have been designed with babies and families in mind. With separate areas for rest and play, children are safe, secure and able to explore and freely express themselves. Relationships are the heart of our nurseries; we value the special level of trust given to us by families and strive to honour the unique routines of each individual child. Our nursery educators are specifically selected for their nurturing personalities and specialised infant knowledge, to support families and children at the very beginning of their education journey. There is an enormous and exciting amount of brain development in the first few years of life, and we pride ourselves on our warm and responsive environments where children receive lots of personal attention and interaction to enhance and celebrate growth and individual stages of development.
Becoming more independent and increasingly interested in the world around them, our toddler environments are planned to inspire the most curious little minds and the busy nature of a toddler. With lots of open-ended discovery children have the opportunity to explore, investigate and influence their own experiences and learning as they develop interests and construct their own identities and understanding of the world. Educators respect young children’s natural desire to be independent and provide opportunities that are unhurried and supportive to exhibit autonomy. Learning with every experience and play opportunity, educators and families have a great opportunity to share and promote the interests of toddlers to make learning authentic and enjoyable for the children through shared discussion.
Kindergarten at Beachwood is wonderous and exciting, a place where children are encouraged to make discoveries, develop theories, imagine, explore and interpret. Our kindergarten programs inspire children to actively engage their minds in learning through interactive, culturally rich and a diverse range of experiences. Our Beach to Bush program is an integral part of the kindergarten curriculum, complementing learning in our indoor classrooms and enticing outdoor spaces. Participating in our industry leading community programs, the kinder children will have many opportunities to engage within the wider community to authentically explore their learning.
Delivered by fully qualified teachers who are skilled in maximising learning outcomes for children, our aim is to ensure that children are happy, have a love for learning and are fully prepared for school and life beyond. Operating 5 days a week, Beachwood’s 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten programs provide flexible attendance for families without restrictive session times.
Our outdoor learning environments have been created with the joy of childhood in mind, where learning extends beyond the indoor classroom to our beautifully designed outdoor learning spaces. Reminiscent of many childhoods, in the outdoor environments you will discover forts, slides, digging patches, cubby houses, sandpits, mud kitchens, vegetable patches and places to explore and enjoy nature. Our outdoor spaces have been carefully planned and designed for safety and to encourage healthy behaviours that improve the physical, educational and mental wellbeing of our children.
Our ‘Beach to Bush’ and communities programs ensure children also enjoy the local landscapes of our communities, regularly visiting the local parks, beach, wetlands and nature reserves.
