Session times

We want each family to be in control of their CCS entitlements and have the freedom to use the hours that best suit their needs.

Beachwood offers session times of 9, 10 and 12 hours.

We are open from 6:30am-6:30pm and offer sessions between these hours as follows:

9 hour sessions are between 8:00am – 5:00pm
10 hour sessions are between 7:30am – 5:30pm
12 hours sessions are between 6:30am – 6:30pm

Bond

A one off bond payment of $200 per family is payable to secure your position at Beachwood. This fee is held against your account for the duration of your time at Beachwood and is refundable to your nominated bank account or credit card upon giving two weeks notice in writing that you will be ceasing care and your account is paid in full. This fee is non-refundable if care is not commenced.

Holiday Discount

Beachwood offers two weeks of your child’s normal booking for holidays at a discount of 50% of your fee. This offer is valid once per financial year and does not accumulate or roll over if unused. Your intention to take these holidays must be advised in writing to the Centre Director at least one week prior to the date you wish this applied.

Absences from the Centre

Fees are charged according to your child’s booking regardless of attendance, as your place is held for you on booked days. Each financial year the Family Assistance Office will pay your child’s Child Care Subsidy (CCS) entitlements for the first 42 absent days. You may receive CCS after your initial 42 absent days, however you will be required to provide evidence for absences to demonstrate it occurred under permitted circumstances under the CCS guidelines. CCS cannot be claimed after a child’s last day of actual attendance.

For illustration: if a family provides the centre with two weeks’ notice ceasing their child’s place and does not attend, they will be charged full fees. CCS will not be paid for absences where fees are charged to reserve a place for a child who has not yet started care or on the last day of care where a child is absent, subsequently full fees will be charged. We request that families inform us of their childs absence as soon as practicable and confirm this absence on the attendance register when they return.

Payment

Fees are payable one week in advance. Beachwood uses an automated debit system for the payment of weekly fees. This is the only method for the payment of your account. This provides a secure, simple and cost-effective service for busy families. Fees are debited each Monday for the following week’s care, from your nominated bank account or credit card. Please refer to the debit authority form in your enrolment pack regarding the surcharges payable for the various payment types.

Fees are charged according to your child’s booking and are payable on all absent days with the exception of Victorian public holidays where there is no charge. Where eligible, Beachwood offers two weeks of your child’s normal booking for holidays at a discount of 50% of your fee. For more information on the holiday discount please refer to the enrolment handbook or speak with one of our team.

Child Care Subsidy

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) reduces your out of pocket child care expenses by giving you a percentage discount off the daily fee for a nominated amount of hours per fortnight. CCS is not applied for, edited or amended by Beachwood. Where eligible to receive CCS, the payment comes directly from the Government to our centre to reduce your daily fees.

The percentage of CCS you will receive, and the number of hours each fortnight, depends on your circumstances. There are three criteria:

• Your family’s income
• Hours of ‘recognised’ activity that you and your partner (where applicable), undertake
• The “hourly rate cap” based on the type of approved childcare and your child’s age

To help you understand your possible entitlements please use the online CCS calculator.
