Kindergarten at Beachwood
Kindergarten at Beachwood is wonderous and exciting, a place where children are encouraged to make discoveries, develop theories, imagine, explore and interpret. Children are celebrated individually and as a part of a community, together children research and explore ideas whilst being encouraged to build positive learning dispositions and become their own best advocates. Delivered by passionate teachers who are skilled in maximising learning outcomes for children, our aim is to ensure that children are happy, have a love for learning and are fully prepared for school and life beyond.
Our 3-year-old kindergarten program is the perfect foundation and introduction to our 4-year-old kindergarten program. Operating every day, Beachwood’s 3 and 4-year-old funded kindergartens provide flexible attendance for families without restricting session times. Our kindergarten programs inspire children to actively engage their minds in learning through interactive, culturally rich and a diverse range of experiences in our play-based curriculums.
The Beach and Bush program is an integral part of the kindergarten curriculum, complementing learning in our indoor classrooms and enticing outdoor spaces. As leaders in our community programs, the kinder children will have many opportunities to engage within the wider community to authentically explore their learning beyond the classroom walls.
Our Kindergarten teaching team regularly hold information sessions about our kinder program, topics of interest and supporting children transition to school and are always available to discuss any questions you may have about kindergarten at Beachwood.
As learning mentors, our kindergarten teaching teams share an abundance of information about the children’s learning to families in many ways. Families are encouraged to be active participants and are invited to join our programs, with many platforms to be a part of their child’s successes and learning journey. Our teaching team are honoured to be a part of your child’s early education journey and promote an atmosphere of open communication to jointly meet aspirations for your child. Throughout the year teachers will be available for informal chats as well as interviews about your child’s learning and development.
Kindergarten Fee's
In 2022, the Victorian Government announced low-cost kindergarten for all Victorian children accessing an approved funded kindergarten program.
The Victorian Government offers funding to provide families up to 15 hours of low-cost Kindergarten a week and is in addition to the Childcare Subsidy. The funding offsets the fees for three and four-year-old children that are part of Beachwood’s Kindergarten program.
Families will save up to $2,050 a year for eligible children aged three years old and above at our Government approved Kindergarten program in 2024. This is in addition to the Child Care Subsidy.
How does it work?
Beachwood will receive eligible children’s Government contribution directly from the Government and apply this back to your account on regular intervals as a fee reduction.
Children can only receive kindergarten funding at one service. To receive the low-cost subsidy as a fee reduction at Beachwood, families will need to complete and sign a declaration form that confirms Beachwood as their funded Kindergarten program. This form is then submitted to the Department of Education on their behalf, which will allow us to receive the subsidy for their fees.
